Secret Hideaway

The unspoken words written in this hidden chamber of mine

You

I thought of you again, today.

Just like any other days.

Thinking of when will the distance be much closer

So I could see you everyday, over and over.

I barely know you, but I really want to.

I don’t know what my future holds, but I do want you.

No matter where you are, what you do

You will always be in my thoughts and prayers.

Please

“Please,

Can anyone just be here with me?

Because I hate the thought of being alone again

Please,

Can anyone please hold my hand?

Because I feel like I’ll fall if I take another step alone”

Just like that these pleads echoed in the small corner of my heart, everyday.

1 step, 2 steps,

I counted as I move towards the blurry path in front of me.

Today again,

I’ll just keep going, like I always do.

Her

I see her,

Strolling down the sandy beach,

Holding a basket full of shells she picked

Humming to a lively beat

Watching the waves hit her feet.

But when we locked eyes,

My heart shattered

Her gaze was as cold as ice,

Her soul was torn and tattered.

“What’s the matter young girl?”, I asked.

A bright smile painted her face,

But the cold gaze remains its place

“Nothing,” she answered.

The basket she held,

Was not all pretty shells,

There were small and rough pebbles

With big sharp stones, but she didn’t mattered.

She washed all of them with ocean water,

Putting them back into her old tiny basket

Carrying them as if the weight did not bother

With silence remains as the sun sets.
